Organic Brown Rice Syrup

Suzanne's Specialties Brown Rice Syrups are gluten-free and hypoallergenic. They are excellent humectants and flavor enhancers, adding sweetness, but no flavor of their own. Brown Rice Syrups are all-natural sweeteners produced by culturing cooked rice with enzymes. The product is roughly 50% soluble complex carbohydrates, 45% maltose, and 3% glucose. The glucose, maltose and the complex carbohydrates provide a steady supply of energy to the body.

Suzanne's Specialties Organic Agave Syrup (also called agave nectar) is an all-natural sweetener produced in Mexico from several species of agave. The syrup is prepared from juice extracted from the wild agave cactus, is then filtered to remove insolubles and is finally concentrated to yield a sweet syrup with a neutral flavor. Agave syrup helps to prevent crystallization, retain moisture and inhibit bacterial growth in foods. It is sweeter than honey and less viscous.

Our Organic Barley Malt Extract is an excellent flavor enhancer, especially when combined with grains. It is produced by steeping organic barley in water and allowing the naturally present enzymes to convert the starches into soluble sugars. This syrup is then concentrated to produce the thick extract of malted barley.

Suzanne's Organic Molasses is a rich dark liquid, a by-product created when cane sugar is refined into table sugar. It is a superb choice to sweeten finished products such as cookies, candies, muffins, sauces and dark breads.

Suzanne's Specialties Organic Honey is created from select varieties of honey, chosen for color, granulation, moisture content, and sugar profiles. We also have the capability to produce low-diastase honey for dressing manufacturers and artisan bread bakers. Rich in both minerals and nutrients, honey has been shown to have antibiotic properties by many research studies.

Spray Dried Rice Syrup Solids

Dried rice syrup solids serve as an effective carrier for sweeteners, gums, spices and seasonings. They are also an effective bulking agent and promote instant solubility. Rice syrup solids are produced by breaking long starch molecules into smaller pieces, created by the enzymatic conversion of rice starch to a sweet liquid extract which is then filtered and run through a spray-drying process. Spray dried rice syrup solids are water-soluble and contribute only a minimal amount of fat with good mouthfeel.


Applications: bakery pre-mixes, sports beverages, confectionary, salad dressings, dry soups, & Diet and Light products.

A by-product of the production of brown rice syrup, the insoluble protein and dietary fiber of the brown rice is filtered and then washed to the desired protein content before being dried into a fine powder. The fine rice protein powder concentrate can be added to a variety of foods and used as a vegan and non-GMO protein supplement in prepared foods & beverages.


Applications: pet foods, beverages, baby foods.

Maltodextrin

Used to enhance texture and flavor, Suzanne's Specialties' rice maltodextrin are produced by breaking long starch molecules into smaller pieces, created by the enzymatic conversion of rice starch. The levels of dextrose and maltose are monitored so that the dextrose equivalent (DE) level does not exceed 20. Maltodextrins are obtained as white, spray-dried solids containing 2-4 percent moisture, are water soluble and yield colorless, very bland solutions. Because of its high molecular weight the product does not lower the freezing point in cold applications as much as sugars.
