During the 1970s, despite dietary guidelines, the US’s use of refined sweeteners was at an all-time high. While concerns about sugar intake grew, people were still using it at enhanced levels creating high demand for many types of unhealthy refined sweeteners.
As a result, in 1984, Suzanne’s Specialties Inc., a 100% woman-owned company was founded with the desire to change the source of ingredients to healthier options. 40 years later, Suzanne’s is still focused on offering natural, sustainable and vegan alternatives that help our partners meet the needs of their customers.
